Why you should study languages?

Hello again!

To be honest with you guys my head is totally empty and I have no idea what I'm doing right now. But I decided to tell you a few reasons why you SHOULD study languages. I have studied English almost eleven years ( okay I have studied English seriously like four years but it doesn't matter) I studied German three years but stopped because I didn't have time. I have also studied French but it wasn't for me so I stopped pretty soon after I had started. In Finland we HAVE TO study Swedish so I have studied that language about five years now. As you may see I have studied a lot of different languages but I can actually speak fluently only two languages which are English and Finnish. 

Reason ONE why you should study languages is that you can't speak your mother language every where. Even if English is your first language you can't think that everybody can actually speak English. If you are traveling I think it would be nice to be able to say something in their language at least. 

Reason TWO is that when you are applying a job they will look at you in a better lighting when you can say that you can speak two or even three different languages! So if you really want that job you should study some languages. 

Reason THREE is that when you have to do a project for your school class and you have to research some things you may want to check the information with different language. For example when I'm doing a project I use English most of the times because you can find so much more in English than in Finnish. 

Reason FOUR is internet. You want those amazing shoes but only a website which isn't in your native language have those. So you have to use other language to get those shoes. I think that if you are able to speak and use other languages your online shopping is so much easier and also funnier. And you can find so much more from the internet if you can use few different languages. 

Reason FIVE is friends. I think that the best part of this is the fact that I can get friends all over the world! Me and my best friend don't even speak each others native languages but because we both can speak English we can communicate. And just even thinking that she can't understand if I start speaking Finnish is so weird because we are so close to each other and she knows basically everything about me. 

Those are five reasons why you should study languages! And just because it is fun! Even if sometimes it feels that you just can't understand the grammar just remember that even if you don't understand everything doesn't mean that you cant use that language. As you can maybe see this text isn't perfect and I know that. But am I scared to use English? No I'm not. I love English and everyday I learn something new. 

Maybe your New Year's resolution could be that you find a language you want to study and study that language! Or then you study that language you are already studying but harder!
